Abnormal couple fail suicide attempts at Ahangama railway station





An officer attached to the Weligama Police committed suicide Friday by jumping in front of an oncoming train.
The police say that the officer had jumped in front of the train on the coastal line in the Aranwela area in Ahangama.
He was run over by the Sagarika train plying from Matara to Maradana.
The deceased has been identified as Upali Senarath, 52, a constable attached to the Weligama Police.
Our correspondent says that Constable Senarath was a father of four.
